suntype - shell script to print Sun CPU type/speed
- This has not been updated since 1998 and will probably fail on newer hardware and Solaris versions.
It's still useful when checking out older systems.
xcolorize - start X client with pleasant background color
xrunclient - launch an X client
- xrunclient was inspired by the toolwait program that was
part of Sun OpenWindows
- There is a similar utility called
Xtoolwait,
by Richard Huveneers. He claims that it is better and faster than xrunclient,
but on my system it is somewhat slower.
It does have more features than xrunclient.
xwit-3.4 -
window interface tool
- The original version of this program was by Mark Martin.
- Later versions were a collaboration between Mark Martin and me;
the last version I released was 3.4, above.
- There is a newer version which is part of the Debian Linux distribution, but I don't know what changes were made.
